GRADE 1 / GRADE 2 / GRADE 5 Ti-6Al-4V

Titanium Balls

Lightweight, high-strength and corrosion-resistant titanium precision balls for chemical valves, pumps, marine, aerospace and medical applications.

Precision titanium balls in polished and satin finishes for valves pumps marine and aerospace applications
PRODUCT REFERENCE / FINAL SPECIFICATION BY QUOTATION

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What are titanium balls?

Titanium balls are precision metal spheres manufactured from commercially pure titanium or titanium alloy. Grade 1 and Grade 2 emphasize corrosion resistance and formability, while Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V provides substantially higher strength for demanding structural and aerospace duties.

The correct grade depends on load, media chemistry, temperature, wear, magnetic behavior, biocompatibility and regulatory requirements. Grade, material condition, dimensions, finish and certification must be defined before substitution.

PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDANCE

Compare materials before substituting.

Material selection affects load, wear, corrosion, temperature, precision, service life and total program cost.

TITANIUM GRADE OPTIONS

Select the grade around corrosion, strength and qualification.

Commercially pure titanium and Ti-6Al-4V serve different duties. Confirm the exact grade, condition, traceability and governing standard before substitution.

01

Commercially Pure Titanium — Grade 1

High ductility and excellent corrosion resistance for chemical, marine and forming-sensitive applications.

02

Commercially Pure Titanium — Grade 2

A widely specified balance of strength, formability, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.

03

Titanium Alloy — Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V

High strength-to-weight performance for aerospace, precision mechanisms and demanding structural components.

KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Performance that purchasing teams can verify.

01

Lightweight performance

Density near 4.5 g/cm³ reduces moving mass compared with steel, tantalum and tungsten materials.

02

High strength-to-weight ratio

Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V supports demanding structural and aerospace requirements.

03

Corrosion resistance

A stable oxide film provides strong resistance in marine and many chemical environments.

04

Marine environment resistance

Titanium supports seawater and coastal equipment when the exact alloy, crevice conditions and service chemistry are reviewed.

05

Biocompatibility

Commercially pure and selected alloy grades support medical programs after device-specific validation.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Specify the work the ball must perform.

Application names are starting points—not approval of universal suitability. Share the real medium, load, speed, pressure, temperature, life target and compliance needs.

Chemical valves & pumps

Flow-control components selected around media, pressure, seat design and cycling duty.

Marine equipment

Lightweight corrosion-resistant spheres for seawater and coastal systems after compatibility review.

Aerospace

Low-mass, high-strength Grade 5 spheres for specialized mechanisms and precision assemblies.

Medical devices

Biocompatibility-led components requiring grade identity, cleanliness and regulatory qualification.

QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Build the evidence into the purchase order.

Document requirements should be defined before quotation so the inspection method, sampling level, traceability and external testing can be planned correctly.

  • Material Certificates coordinated to the agreed grade, purity and purchase specification
  • Chemical Composition Reports available when defined before quotation
  • Dimensional Inspection for diameter, tolerance and geometry using the agreed method
  • Surface Inspection against the specified finish, cleanliness and visual limits
  • Batch Traceability maintained through lot identification and controlled records
  • Third-party Testing Support available by agreement for chemistry, purity or application-specific evidence

PRODUCT FAQ

Answers for engineering and purchasing teams.

Which titanium grades are available?

Common options include commercially pure Grade 1 and Grade 2 plus high-strength Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V. Other grades can be reviewed.

What is the difference between Grade 2 and Grade 5 titanium balls?

Grade 2 emphasizes corrosion resistance and ductility; Grade 5 provides much higher strength. They are not interchangeable without application review.

Are titanium balls corrosion resistant?

Titanium has excellent resistance in seawater and many chemical environments, but exact media, temperature, concentration and crevice conditions must be checked.

Can titanium balls be used in medical implants?

Titanium is widely used in medical applications, but implant suitability requires the correct grade, traceability, surface, cleanliness, validation and regulatory approval.

What sizes and tolerances are available?

The reference range is 0.5–100 mm with ±0.01 mm as a project reference. Actual capability depends on grade, diameter, finish and quantity.

Are polished titanium spheres available?

Yes. Machined, ground, lapped and polished finishes can be reviewed with visual, roughness and cleanliness requirements.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. State the required certificate, inspection method, sampling plan and report format before quotation so documentation can be included in the supply plan.

Do you support samples and small-quantity orders?

Yes. SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American prototype, qualification, repair, R&D and small-batch requirements, subject to material, size and production availability.
