SODA-LIME SILICATE / TRANSPARENT GLASS

Soda Lime Glass Balls

Cost-effective, non-magnetic glass spheres for flow indication, light-duty valves, mixing, laboratory and consumer-product applications.

Soda Lime Glass Balls supplied by SDBALLS
PRODUCT REFERENCE / FINAL SPECIFICATION BY QUOTATION

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What are soda lime glass balls?

Soda lime glass balls are transparent or colored silicate-glass spheres produced by forming, grinding and polishing glass with a high soda and lime content. They provide a smooth surface, electrical insulation and useful chemical stability at an economical cost.

They are widely selected where visibility, non-magnetic behavior and corrosion-free operation matter more than high load capacity or thermal-shock resistance. Precision, optical appearance and internal-bubble limits should be specified separately.

PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDANCE

Compare materials before substituting.

Material selection affects load, wear, corrosion, temperature, precision, service life and total program cost.

Material optionPrimary advantageLimitationBest fit

KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Performance that purchasing teams can verify.

01

Transparent indication

Clear glass supports visual flow, level and movement observation.

02

Electrical insulation

Non-conductive, non-magnetic behavior suits instruments and selected electrical assemblies.

03

Smooth cleanable surface

Polished surfaces support low contamination and repeatable movement in compatible media.

04

Economical specification range

Commercial and precision options support prototypes through recurring supply.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Specify the work the ball must perform.

Application names are starting points—not approval of universal suitability. Share the real medium, load, speed, pressure, temperature, life target and compliance needs.

Flow meters & rotameters

Visible moving elements for compatible liquids and gases.

Light-duty valves

Check, dosing and dispensing functions after seat, pressure and impact review.

Mixing & aerosol systems

Agitation balls for coatings, cosmetics and laboratory containers.

Consumer & decorative products

QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Build the evidence into the purchase order.

Document requirements should be defined before quotation so the inspection method, sampling level, traceability and external testing can be planned correctly.

  • Material identity or alloy / ceramic grade verified against the agreed purchase specification
  • Diameter, tolerance and geometry inspected using the method appropriate to the ordered precision level
  • Hardness, density, wall thickness or coating hardness tested when applicable to the product
  • Surface condition, finish and visual limits checked against approved samples or drawings
  • Roundness / sphericity or roller geometry inspected when specified
  • Lot identification and batch traceability maintained through controlled records
  • Material certificates and inspection reports available when agreed before quotation
  • Third-party testing, compliance documents and customer inspection plans supported by agreement

PACKAGING OPTIONS

Protect precision through delivery.

Final packing depends on material, diameter, surface sensitivity, order weight, storage time and destination.

01

Protective vials & trays

Separated or cushioned packing for precision, optical and sample quantities.

02

Small sealed bags

Size-separated bags with lot identification for laboratory and assembly trials.

03

Cartons & rigid containers

Movement-controlled inner packing for regular export orders.

04

Bulk industrial packing

Pails, drums or palletized cartons selected around ball size, weight and breakage risk.

Supported formats: bulk packaging · small-quantity packaging · plastic containers · bags · cartons · export pallets · customized packaging.

SMALL QUANTITY & SAMPLE ORDERS

Validate before you scale.

SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American customers with sample quantities, prototype requirements, testing programs and specialty ball inquiries.

Send the diameter, visual quality, color, precision, quantity, medium and temperature. Samples can support flow visibility, seat compatibility and assembly testing before a recurring order.

PRODUCT FAQ

Answers for engineering and purchasing teams.

What precision levels are available for soda lime glass balls?

Commercial and precision qualities are available, commonly referenced from G20 to G1000 depending on diameter, optical limits and quantity.

Are soda lime glass balls chemically resistant?

They resist many neutral fluids but are not universally chemical-proof. Hydrofluoric acid and strong hot alkalis require particular caution.

Can you control bubbles, color and transparency?

Yes, visual acceptance can be defined by an approved sample or agreed limits for color, bubbles, inclusions and surface marks.

Can glass balls be used in a valve?

Yes for suitable light-duty service, but pressure, impact, temperature change, seat geometry and media compatibility must be reviewed.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. State the required certificate, inspection method, sampling plan and report format before quotation so documentation can be included in the supply plan.

Do you support samples and small-quantity orders?

Yes. SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American prototype, qualification, repair, R&D and small-batch requirements, subject to material, size and production availability.
