OPAQUE GLASS / HIGH-VISIBILITY INDICATION

Black Glass Balls

Opaque black glass spheres for high-contrast flow indication, rotameters, instruments, inspection systems and design-led assemblies.

Black Glass Balls supplied by SDBALLS
PRODUCT REFERENCE / FINAL SPECIFICATION BY QUOTATION

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What are black glass balls?

Black glass balls are opaque or deeply colored glass spheres engineered for applications where a high-contrast moving element is easier to detect than a transparent ball. They retain the smooth, non-magnetic and insulating behavior of glass.

Color uniformity, opacity, diameter, surface quality and visual defects are separate purchasing requirements. An approved color sample is the most reliable basis for production acceptance.

KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Performance that purchasing teams can verify.

01

High-contrast visibility

Opaque color improves human and sensor detection in transparent housings.

02

Non-magnetic construction

Suitable for instruments where magnetic interaction is undesirable.

03

Smooth polished movement

Controlled surface finish supports repeatable movement in compatible tubes and seats.

04

Custom visual acceptance

Color and opacity can be matched to an approved reference for recurring programs.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Specify the work the ball must perform.

Application names are starting points—not approval of universal suitability. Share the real medium, load, speed, pressure, temperature, life target and compliance needs.

Rotameters & flow indicators

Visible moving elements inside clear measuring tubes.

Machine-vision systems

High-contrast reference spheres and detectable moving components.

Laboratory instruments

Non-magnetic markers, mixers and visual control elements.

Consumer & design products

Dark polished spheres for displays, games and decorative assemblies.

QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Build the evidence into the purchase order.

Document requirements should be defined before quotation so the inspection method, sampling level, traceability and external testing can be planned correctly.

  • Material identity or alloy / ceramic grade verified against the agreed purchase specification
  • Diameter, tolerance and geometry inspected using the method appropriate to the ordered precision level
  • Hardness, density, wall thickness or coating hardness tested when applicable to the product
  • Surface condition, finish and visual limits checked against approved samples or drawings
  • Roundness / sphericity or roller geometry inspected when specified
  • Lot identification and batch traceability maintained through controlled records
  • Material certificates and inspection reports available when agreed before quotation
  • Third-party testing, compliance documents and customer inspection plans supported by agreement

PACKAGING OPTIONS

Protect precision through delivery.

Final packing depends on material, diameter, surface sensitivity, order weight, storage time and destination.

01

Protective vials & trays

Separated or cushioned packing for precision, optical and sample quantities.

02

Small sealed bags

Size-separated bags with lot identification for laboratory and assembly trials.

03

Cartons & rigid containers

Movement-controlled inner packing for regular export orders.

04

Bulk industrial packing

Pails, drums or palletized cartons selected around ball size, weight and breakage risk.

Supported formats: bulk packaging · small-quantity packaging · plastic containers · bags · cartons · export pallets · customized packaging.

SMALL QUANTITY & SAMPLE ORDERS

Validate before you scale.

SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American customers with sample quantities, prototype requirements, testing programs and specialty ball inquiries.

Request an approved sample set when color and opacity matter. Include diameter, grade, optical background, lighting, fluid and expected detection method.

PRODUCT FAQ

Answers for engineering and purchasing teams.

Are black glass balls solid black or surface coated?

They are typically colored through the glass composition, but the exact construction must be confirmed for the selected grade.

Can black color and opacity be controlled?

Yes. Use an approved physical sample or measurable color criteria because screen images are not reliable production standards.

What precision grades are available?

Reference grades from G20 to G1000 can be considered depending on diameter, color formulation and quantity.

Are they suitable for flow meters?

Yes, where density, tube geometry, fluid, pressure and chemical compatibility are suitable for glass.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. State the required certificate, inspection method, sampling plan and report format before quotation so documentation can be included in the supply plan.

Do you support samples and small-quantity orders?

Yes. SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American prototype, qualification, repair, R&D and small-batch requirements, subject to material, size and production availability.
