Steel shot performance depends on more than pellet diameter. Hardness control, sphericity, size consistency and surface condition directly influence pattern density, pellet energy, penetration performance and finished shotshell consistency.
SDBALLS produces annealed steel shot from low-carbon steel wire with controlled annealing processes for reliable ammunition manufacturing applications.
MATERIAL & PERFORMANCE PROFILE
Diameter alone does not determine loading consistency. Material, size distribution, geometry, surface condition and hardness must be agreed as one supply specification.
Typical AISI 1006–1010 or equivalent low-carbon steel grades, subject to the approved customer specification.
Approx. 2.03–5.58 mm diameter. Customized shot sizes and controlled distributions are available by project review.
Size distribution, sphericity, roundness and batch-to-batch consistency are controlled for repeatable loading programs.
Hardness is controlled around customer loading requirements, destination-market references and application requirements.
