CUSTOM THREADED SPHERES / METRIC, UNC & UNF

Steel Balls with Threaded Holes

Precision metal spheres with blind or through threaded holes for handles, fixtures, tooling, linkages and custom mounting assemblies.

Steel Balls with Threaded Holes supplied by SDBALLS
PRODUCT REFERENCE / FINAL SPECIFICATION BY QUOTATION

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What are steel balls with threaded holes?

Steel balls with threaded holes are machined spheres that combine controlled outside geometry with an internal thread, through hole, blind hole or mounting feature. They are supplied as functional components rather than ordinary loose balls.

Thread size, engagement length, datum, runout, concentricity, material and surface finish must be defined on a drawing. Threaded spheres may be made from stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, aluminum and other machinable materials.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Start with measurable requirements.

Values below are product-family references. The quotation, drawing, agreed standard and inspection plan control the final supply specification.

KEY PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Performance that purchasing teams can verify.

01

Thread-to-sphere control

Concentricity and runout can be inspected against the functional datum.

02

Broad thread choice

Metric, UNC, UNF, blind and through configurations support global assemblies.

03

Material & finish flexibility

Steel, stainless, brass and aluminum options match strength, corrosion and appearance.

04

Assembly-ready supply

Part marking, inserts, studs and line-side packing can reduce downstream work.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Specify the work the ball must perform.

Application names are starting points—not approval of universal suitability. Share the real medium, load, speed, pressure, temperature, life target and compliance needs.

Machine handles & knobs

Comfortable spherical grips for controls, levers and access hardware.

Fixtures & tooling

Adjustable stops, locating elements and clamping assemblies.

Linkages & pivots

Threaded spherical interfaces in motion and positioning mechanisms.

Architecture & furniture

Decorative mounts, finials and custom stainless or brass hardware.

QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION

Build the evidence into the purchase order.

Document requirements should be defined before quotation so the inspection method, sampling level, traceability and external testing can be planned correctly.

  • Material identity or alloy / ceramic grade verified against the agreed purchase specification
  • Diameter, tolerance and geometry inspected using the method appropriate to the ordered precision level
  • Hardness, density, wall thickness or coating hardness tested when applicable to the product
  • Surface condition, finish and visual limits checked against approved samples or drawings
  • Roundness / sphericity or roller geometry inspected when specified
  • Lot identification and batch traceability maintained through controlled records
  • Material certificates and inspection reports available when agreed before quotation
  • Third-party testing, compliance documents and customer inspection plans supported by agreement

PACKAGING OPTIONS

Protect precision through delivery.

Final packing depends on material, diameter, surface sensitivity, order weight, storage time and destination.

01

Drawing-controlled identification

Part number, revision, material, lot and inspection status labeled as agreed.

02

Separated protective packing

Trays, cells or partitions protect machined surfaces, coatings and special geometry.

03

Small-quantity containers

Prototype and service quantities packed for practical North American receiving.

04

Export & OEM packing

Cartons, crates, pallets, customer labels and documentation coordinated by project.

Supported formats: bulk packaging · small-quantity packaging · plastic containers · bags · cartons · export pallets · customized packaging.

SMALL QUANTITY & SAMPLE ORDERS

Validate before you scale.

SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American customers with sample quantities, prototype requirements, testing programs and specialty ball inquiries.

Provide a drawing with thread class, engagement, datum, runout, material, finish, torque or load and quantity. Prototype parts are recommended before volume assembly.

PRODUCT FAQ

Answers for engineering and purchasing teams.

Which thread standards are available?

Metric, UNC, UNF and custom thread forms can be reviewed with class, pitch, depth and gauge requirements.

Can the hole be blind or through?

Yes. Blind, through, counterbored, cross-drilled and insert-equipped designs are possible.

How is thread concentricity controlled?

The drawing must define the datum and allowable runout between the thread axis and spherical surface.

Can you supply the ball with a stud installed?

Yes, when stud material, retention method, torque, adhesive and final assembly requirements are specified.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. State the required certificate, inspection method, sampling plan and report format before quotation so documentation can be included in the supply plan.

Do you support samples and small-quantity orders?

Yes. SDBALLS Industry Corp. supports North American prototype, qualification, repair, R&D and small-batch requirements, subject to material, size and production availability.
